“On Sept. 11, 2001, first lady Laura Bush was on her way to Capitol Hill to attend a hearing on education reform when a Secret Service agent told her of the event that would define her family’s next eight years in the White House.

Bush spoke Tuesday afternoon at the Naples Grande Beach Resort as part of NaplesNEXT, a new “ideas festival” that organizers say was inspired by the Aspen Ideas Festival, the Nantucket Project, TED Talks and other thought leadership events.”
